Larissa earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees in Communicative Disorders from the University of Redlands. Throughout her career she has worked in a wide array of clinical settings including:
· elementary schools
· clinical settings
· neuro-developmental center for children diagnosed with autism
· acute inpatient hospital
· outpatient pediatric hospital
Larissa has had extensive experience with family centered therapy and early intervention, and was trained in Project ImPact during her participation in the BRIDGE Collaborative. She has had experience in integrating a variety of therapy techniques to effectively meet the needs of parents and their children. She is currently developing coaching packets specifically designed for Parent Child Sign & Speak, which is a small group program providing direct coaching sessions to enhance interaction during communication activities.
Larissa’s areas of interest include early intervention services, alternative and augmentative communication systems, children with motor-speech disorders, and family centered treatment. She has volunteered her time to work with support groups of families of children with Down syndrome and consistently seeks out best approaches to developing comprehensive and effective programs that will best meet their needs.
